I have conducted research in several areas of linguistics in two primary areas of interest.
First, I am interested in language variation and change, and the cognitive factors that contribute to why and how languages change.
My work uses both psychological and computational methods to understand the circumstances in which speakers change language.
My second area focus on prepositions, again using psychological and computational methods in conjunction with theoretical analyses to understand the organization of the syntax
and lexicon around prepositions. My languages of focus have been primarily Germanic as well as Welsh and Portuguese.
Although my primary area of expertise is language, I am broadly interested in modeling and data science. My language interests include ancient languages (Greek, Etruscan) as well as ancient history generally.
